Using Bill Bee

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are between you and Adrian, the operator of Bill Bee (“Bill Bee,” “we,” or “us”), and apply to the Bill Bee app and billbeeapp.com (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 and meet any higher minimum age required in your location. If you are not old enough to enter into a binding agreement, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms and supervise your use. If you use the Service for an organization, you must have authority to act for it.

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Service.

Accounts and access

You can use local ledger features without a hosted account. Some features require an account, a network connection, or a compatible version of the app. Keep account information accurate and protect your device and sign-in credentials. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account.

Apple and Google sign-in are subject to those providers’ requirements. Signing in does not by itself synchronize, back up, or transfer your local ledger. Contact us promptly if you believe someone has gained unauthorized access to your Bill Bee account.

Records and balances

Bill Bee is a recordkeeping and calculation tool. It helps organize expenses, income, recorded transfers, shared balances, and settlement suggestions. It is not a bank, payment service, debt collector, or provider of financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

Recording a payment or marking a balance as settled does not transfer money or confirm that money has reached another person. You are responsible for making and confirming any real-world payment separately.

Check your entries, imported data, allocations, calculations, and exports before relying on them. Currency conversions may use reference rates or rates entered by users; they are not guaranteed to be current or to match a bank’s rate. Rounding, incomplete records, and other members’ changes can affect displayed balances.

You remain responsible for agreements and disputes with group members. Bill Bee does not decide whether a debt is valid or enforce repayment. Keep independent copies of important records using the available export tools.

Groups and sharing

When connected group features are enabled, information you add may be visible to other members, and people with the relevant permissions may change group settings, membership, or records. Only add information about another person when you have an appropriate basis to do so.

Protect invitation links and send them only to intended recipients. Before sharing a recap, screenshot, or export, review the personal and financial information it includes. We cannot control copies that other people save or share outside the Service.

Acceptable use

Use the Service lawfully and respect other people’s rights. You must not:

  • Use the Service for fraud, harassment, impersonation, or other unlawful activity.
  • Access another person’s account, private group, or data without permission, or bypass security or access controls.
  • Upload malicious code, interfere with the Service, or abuse invitations, accounts, or network requests.
  • Upload or share content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
  • Copy, resell, or reverse engineer the Service except where permitted by applicable law or an applicable open-source license.

Your content and our app

You retain ownership of the content you enter into Bill Bee. You grant us permission to store, process, reproduce, and transmit that content only as needed to operate the features you use, respond to your requests, and meet legal obligations, as described in the Privacy Policy. This includes sharing content with people you choose through the Service.

The app, website, branding, artwork, and other Service materials belong to Bill Bee or its licensors. Subject to these Terms and applicable app-store rules, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. Rights in third-party and open-source components remain with their respective owners and are governed by their applicable licenses.

Third-party services

The Service may depend on third-party authentication, hosting, operating-system features, app stores, and sharing destinations. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices, and their availability is outside our control.

If you obtain the iOS app through Apple’s App Store, your use is also subject to Apple’s applicable usage rules and the Apple Standard End User License Agreement, unless a custom license is supplied with the app. These Terms govern your relationship with Bill Bee for the Service; they do not replace applicable app-store terms.

Availability and changes

We may improve, change, or discontinue features. Features identified as previews, demos, or development features may be incomplete, may change, and may not be suitable for important records. Network access, device compatibility, and service outages can affect availability or delay synchronization.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Where reasonably practicable, we will give notice of a material reduction or discontinuation that affects hosted records and an opportunity to export them, subject to legal and security requirements.

If we introduce paid features, we will show the applicable price and purchase terms before you agree to pay. These Terms do not authorize any charge on their own.

Ending your use

You can stop using the Service at any time. To request deletion of a hosted account, contact us at the email below. Uninstalling the app or signing out does not delete a hosted account. Review the Privacy Policy’s deletion information and export any records you need before removing data.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a violation of these Terms, a security risk, unlawful activity, or a legal requirement. Where appropriate and permitted, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

Provisions that by their nature need to continue, including ownership, limits of liability, and rules about existing disputes, continue after your use ends.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties about accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. You are responsible for reviewing records and keeping appropriate backups.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Bill Bee is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or losses resulting from inaccurate entries, disputes between group members, unauthorized sharing by other users, or events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

General terms

We may update these Terms and will publish the updated version with a revised date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where required. Changes apply going forward. If you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using the Service before they take effect; any consent required by law will be requested separately.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A delay in enforcing a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.

These Terms do not take away any mandatory rights or protections under the laws that apply to you, including rights to bring a claim in a competent local court. If a dispute arises, contact us so we can try to resolve it.
